I’m a couple weeks behind this post, but here’s been what’s going on in our closed Facebook Page for those who aren’t on the social media site.
SCFP Spouse Brittiny writes to any job-seekers on April 5th:
Hey ladies, if any of you have experience in the dental industry (Dentrix) Fort Dental Group is looking for full time administrators. If you are interested in a position let me know and I would be happy to pass your information along!
(feel free to reply to use the SCFPSA’s contact page to be connected to Brittiny)
On the same day, SCFP Spouse (and new mama) Jasmine started a discussion on the best apps to coordinate family schedules for shift workers. Recommended were the calendar apps Cozi, Fantastical, and FamCal. Another suggestion was for family members to sync iPhones. If you have a tip to share on coordinating family schedules, please join the Facebook conversation, or leave a comment on this page!
On the 30th of March, SCFP Spouse Courtney shared an article on the importance of sleep for first responders which started a conversation on melatonin use and the obstacles around achieving sleep between night shifts and on days off. Want to weigh in? Join the Facebook conversation or leave a comment on this post.
On March 25, SCFP Spouse Roisin started a kids’ bike rehoming thread. She writes:
Any one have a bike they are looking to rehome. My daughter is 3 but she is the size of a 5 year old. This will be her first pedal bike… thought i would ask fire family before buying new. Hubby says she will likely need a 14″… what ever that means lol
Feel free to post any bike u want to rehome that isnt this specific size.. maybe someone will give you space in your garage & $ towards ur kids next bike.
Roisin quickly found a bike for her little girl, but another spouse has offered up a second bike for donation. Courtney writes that the bike is 2 feet tall with an adjustable seat (photo below):
Please use the contact form on the SCFPSA website if you have a child that could make use of Courtney’s gently used bike.
On March 22nd, SCFP Spouse Shelley shared a link to the Super Duper Adventure Day Camp for Ages 6-12. She writes:
Looking for one of the coolest summer camps ever???????
Run by our incredible mma coaches and kids yoga teacher!!
And on the 22nd of March, SCFP Spouse Stephanie asked if anyone in our community is a Notary. She didn’t find one on our Facebook group, but if you or a family member happen to be able to legally certify documents, please let us know so we can put you in touch with Stephanie and so we can add you to SCFPSA’s Business Directory.
Finally, on April 7th, Katie asks if anyone is interested in fermenting their own apple cider vinegar as she has a few mature “mothers” to give away or toss (she’s also in the market for a sourdough starter, if anyone else has some to share).
