A Circle of Angels sisters, Kristen and Beverly, have crafted a generous gift of 180 Angel ornaments to be given to the entire 2461 membership. They chose to gift our department to honour the life and loss of Lieutenant Darren Anderson. These Angels were made as a one of a kind version that will not be replicated. Four special Angels were created for Michelle, Gracie, Noa, and Sophia.
Over 30 volunteers assisted in the creation of these Angels, many of them members of Edmonton Police Service Wive’s Association. 2000 EPS Members were gifted Angels after the sudden death of Constable Woodall, and the Wive’s Association felt crafting our Angels was a beautiful way to honour and project the kindness extended to them following their loss.
Today at 4pm, Kristen and Beverly will gift these Angels to the crew at Station Six. Shop Stewards will be assigned to distribute the Angels.
Firefighter Paramedic Ian Clavelle has been the lead contact on this project, and wants our membership to know of Kristen and Beverly’s generosity so we will be receptive to paying the gesture forward in the future. We will extend our support and invite A Circle of Angels to call on us in the future through email later today.
If you are touched by this gesture and would like to thank A Circle of Angels personally, please feel free to “like” their Facebook page and shoot them a note, or share a photo of your family’s Angel and tag their page in the photo (these are not suggestions they provided, just gestures I think they might appreciate). There is no requirement on this gift, it is sent solely with love, kindness, and support.
