**REMINDER**
If you can, please attend this meeting. We’ll need help making the BBQ a success for SCFP families and many hands make light work (it’s also a great way to meet other department families!). As our older kids will be in the At Home By Yourself course, there won’t be childcare available at this meeting, but little ones are welcome to attend with their parent as needed. Hope to see you there!

The Strathcona County Firefighter Paramedic Spouse Association is going to hold our 3rd quarterly meeting on April 28th at 1:30-3pm at Station Six. We will be using this time to plan the finer details of the Spring Family Barbecue which will take place on June 1st. Here are a few reasons why you should attend:
- This is the first department-wide event the Spouse Association has planned, and your insights and help can help us make it a really great time for everyone whether your first responder is on days off, or on night or day shift during the celebration.
- Events are less awkward when you know people, and this casual, low-key meeting is a great way to get to know people. On June 1st, we can be awkward together!
- SCFP Spouse Stephanie was really selfless to take the lead on coordinating this event and she’s super sweet – let’s support her!
- The meeting has been planned to coincide with the kid’s At Home Alone Course also happening at station six, so if your child is registered you can grab a coffee and chat with us rather than driving home just to drive back to the station an hour later.
That said, SCFPSA exists to support the families of Strathcona Firefighter Paramedics. If an hour and a half to yourself away from your tween is how we can best support you, you do you mama! There’s no pressure to attend this meeting but if you are interested in helping out, please come. We’d love to get to know you better and we want to make the Department’s Spring Barbecue one to remember.
If you would like to contribute coffee, tea, or a snack to the April 28th meeting, please let us know using the contact form below (or if reading this post through email, just hit ‘reply’).
