SCFPSA Spouse and Outreach Team Member Roisin of Raw Sheen Designs has created a great logo for our group, totally in step with the other affiliate groups of Strathcona Firefighters (probably because she has / is designing at least two other Maltese crosses for our department’s groups! You’re a star, Sheen.)
A logo is necessary because many who lead the way in First Responder mental health have begun to push for the creation of first responder family resource groups to support wellness on the home front. Neighbouring departments, organizations, and charities have reached out to our group to both offer support (on the side of charities) and to ask for advice in introducing their own spousal associations, or in creating direct channels of communication with FR families. Seeing this interest develop (and after seeing Communications Lead Katie scribble contact info on a crumbled piece of paper from the bottom of her purse), Local 2461 has asked us to purchase business cards for our group to distribute as needed, and we need an image to slap onto those cards!
The cards will be given to the spouses of new recruits to direct them to us, to members of the outreach team (to distribute as needed), Department Chaplain Greg (to forward the spouses of FRs to us if they are in need of friendship or help finding private resources) or anyone else who is making community connections and feels she or he could use a few cards to hand out. We will design them with the website and our affiliation with 2461 on the front, and empty lines on the back for the distributor to write their own name and contact information.
What do you think? Is there any information we’ve missed that should also go on the cards? Let us know in the post’s comments below, send us a message, or post your thoughts on the SCFPSA Facebook Group.
