Holiday Greetings, Everyone! It’s a year like no other, but we can still support one another through these fundraisers happening throughout the fire department and in the lives of our members and families.
Honour Guard Beer Fundraiser
The long-awaited Honour Guard beer fundraiser is finally here!
We partnered with Alley Kat Brewing Company and Crossroads Liquor to bring you our very own “Last Alarm Pale Ale”.
The attached poster will be going up around the halls this weekend. Scan the QR code with your phone, or visit https://honourguard.company.site/ to see our online store. Place your order and choose your method of payment. Order yours before December 15, 2020 and it will be ready for pick up from Crossroads Liquor in early January!
All profits go to support the Strathcona Honour Guard. Friends and family are more than welcome so spread the word!
Take care, stay safe,
Strathcona County Honour Guard
From the family:
“Details of the donation are well explained in the attached video but the short story is, my late mother-in-law was a residential school survivor and near the end of her life became homeless and accessed shelters as needed. She was also a notoriously excellent gift giver so after she passed away my wife and I started this project with our kids in memory of her. Every Christmas for the last 3 years my family and I put together Christmas care packages for Edmonton’s homeless population. The gift bags usually include socks, mitts, hats, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hot paws, and a treat like a candy cane. We also try to have hot coffee and fresh donuts or muffins when we go to Boyle Street to hand out the gifts however due to COVID, that part is still up in the air.
The first year we started with only 25 gift bags and have increased the goal every year. This year we are hoping to put together 250 gift bags and they typically cost around 12 dollars per package.
If you can offer any financial support, e-transfers can be sent to email@example.com. If you have any ideas on how we can connect with vendors or potential donors, that would also be very much appreciated!
Thanks again and Happy Holidays,”
