IAFF Local 2461 has asked SCFPSA to coordinate childcare so their Members and Spouses can attend the Will & Estate Planning Workshops Strathcona County is hosting. For some time, our union has requested Emergency Services workshops be held at times more realistic for shift-working families, and the County has positively responded with the coordination of these sessions. After so much planning effort, we don’t want any SCFP Families to miss out because childcare is an issue.
The room adjacent to the room booked for the workshops will be used for childcare. We need volunteers have a volunteer for each evening but company would certainly be welcome so if you can volunteer to join please let us know.
November 30th (Serving Platoon One Families) – Children Registered – Volunteer: Katie Bickell
December 3rd (Serving Platoon Three Families) – Children Registered – Volunteer: Alison Hawkins
December 5th (Serving Platoon Four Families) – No Children Registered* – Volunteer: Jennifer Johnson
December 7th (Serving Platoon Two Families) – Children Registered – Volunteer: Natalie Dyrland
*We are still asking for volunteers for the 5th despite having no children registered in case families are simply late to register. If no children are registered for childcare by the date of the workshop, volunteers will not be needed for those dates.
It’s not too late to register your children for childcare if you haven’t already, but please let us know (especially if you belong to Platoon Four!).
All of these sessions run 6:30 – 8:30pm. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own children.
Please use the contact form below to volunteer, or to register for childcare.
