One of our SCFP Spouses, Mia, has organized the opportunity for SCFP Spouses to try a Yin class through Sherwood Park’s Modo Yoga as a private group. Depending on how many sign up for the class, a discount is available. All SCFP Spouses are invited and welcome to bring a friend, their partner, or teenage child. (A few guys have registered, so please assure your partner or son it won’t be a ladies-only room!)
Mia writes:
“I’ve talked to the owner of Modo to organize a private Hot Yin yoga class for the spouses. My purpose was for this to introduce and create a time and space for healing for our group. I’ve also chosen an instructor who would be happy to teach us. It will be from 3-4 on Sunday, October 6. Mats and towels will be provided.”
Yin is a special type of yoga. It’s very gentle, slow moving, takes place in the dark, and is both a great way for people who have little experience to give it a try or for those with experience to deepen their practice (if you are the kind of person who often feels stiff and achy or can never get enough quiet, introspective ‘me time,’ this is the practice for you!). In Yin, you don’t even have to stand up (all poses take place on the mat in sitting or reclining). Attached above is the studio’s description.
